week 2 - Snow globe disintegration
/// Snow Globe Photogeommetry ///
Now Postshot is very convenient for training and exporting high quality Splat. Although the feature to export .ply files requires a paid subscription.
/// Snow Globe Disintegration ///
Use Pcopen in the solver to diffuse the masks.
Apply dynamic effects to particles based on the masks in Popnet.
Use Curve to create a path curve, then use Popcurveforce to guide particle motion
The particle motion is still not perfect; we need to adjust the curve's shape and width, as well as the particles' shape and speed.
Later, I'll use 3D compositing to composite this animation onto the background.
/// Mesh to Splat ///
Now, I’m using the latest Blender plugin 3DGS Render by KIRI Engine to convert the polygon model to a splat model. This plugin is free, which is also very simple, convenient, and fast to use. The sample conversion process took only 10 seconds on my computer.
Two points are worth noting:
· Currently, this plugin only supports Blender 5.1;
· the more polygons the original model has, the more splat points you’ll get.

/// Next Plan ///
1. Adjust the Shape of the Particle Stream
2. Start the plant growth animation. Research the Gaussian splat rigging method.
